Total Entries: 1,6181st Place – John Lytle
John Lytle earned his second Borgata Open trophy today after wrestling the chip lead away from Colm Singh, who had an iron grip on the lead most of Day 3. Just after 7pm, John doubled through Colm to take the lead. Before the hour was up, John had taken the last of Colm’s chips, sending him out in 5th place.
The final four players agreed to adjusted payouts and as the chip leader, John gets 1st place and $114,833, plus takes home his second Borgata trophy. His first was for winning the 2016 Spring Poker Open SixMax event, good for more than $40,000. Today’s win will be his best live cash and double his lifetime tournament earnings.
He’s an amateur poker player and owns a tree service, but has been rehabbing his leg all summer after breaking it in a fall earlier in the year.
John’s in a race to catch Barry Levelthal in the trophy count. Barry’s got four, so John’s got his work cut out for him. I could point out that there were more entries in this event than in all of the events Barry won, combined, but who wants to spoil their fun. John does now have a six-figure cash, which is something Barry has yet to achieve.John Lytle and his ‘bro’, Barry Leventhal
