Johnny Rodrigues who was featured in a previous post got his stack of about 20,000 chips all in holding an ace high flush draw against the king high flush draw of his opponent. When the flush missed Rodrigues walked away and re-entered the tournament. Upon his return his table mates informed him that his ace high was good and that he had survived. Looks like Rodrigues will be getting a refund and can continue his grind with his new found chips.

While we’ve highlighted a lot of players that have had success at Borgata over the last few series. This event also brings in some of the best players from around the region. Soukha Kachittavong is coming off one of the best runs of his poker career at last month’s Foxwoods World Poker Finals. Soukha started his run in the $300 Big Stack event, finishing 3rd, before following that up with another third place finish in the $1,200 event, collecting $45,212. To finish off his amazing run Kachittavong won the $2,700 WPF Championship, event collecting another $76,037. Kachittavong hopes to continue his run of success here at Borgata, where he only has two career scores.
On the other hand Sam Taylor who is seated on to Kachittavong’s immediate left has over a dozen Borgata scores, including his first ever Borgata title during last years Fall Poker Open. Taylor has also had success at Foxwoods winning this past summers WSOPC main event for $150,000. These two will be tough competition for each other and we will be keeping our eyes on them throughout this Day 1B flight.
