As we arrive at the very end of today’s flight, we just watched Borgatapoker.com online qualifier “Pokermantis” surrender a frustrating pot and then take another down.
In the first Mike Combs floated him with {Kx}{3x}, and when Pokermantis (he prefers to not give his name) couldn’t find a turn or river barrel, Combs took the pot.
However, Pokermantis got involved again immediately, and with only ten bigs, shoved a {Jx}{Jx}{10x} flop.
With no callers, he picked up desperately needed chips – and flashed the {10d}{7d}.
With the final hands of the level announced, Pokermantis is hanging on with 120,000.

Iverson Snuffer and John Borenstein’s table broke, so Borenstein didn’t get a chance to witness “Heisenberg” himself put a beat on a player for his tournament live.
Snuffer made the call of a 82,000 shove for about a fifth of his stack. He declared “You’re ahead,” and indeed, found himself reverse dominated, with {Ax}{9x} up against {9x}{9x}.
His opponent wasn’t optimistic, though. “He has one of my outs,” he muttered nervously.
Indeed, the nines would need the case card after the flop, as “Heisenberg” hit an ace.
Snuffer is now up to 500,000 and ahead of the average stack.
On to the final level for today.

Out of a short break, Ryan McKnight and Jediael Pires got involved in a three way pot which could have tangled up the two big stacks. It didn’t amount to too much more than a shortstack going broke, as Pires folded to a river value bet.
McKnight, nevertheless, has been on the move. He’s now over 1,000,000 and leading the flight.
McKnight has a number of Borgata titles and over $140,000 in tournament earnings.

As we close out the first flight of the Almighty No Limit, let’s take a quick look at some notable stacks:
Jediael Pires – 800,000
John Borenstein – 780,000
Min Wang – 750,00
Ryan McKnight – 720,000
Tim Policari – 650,000
Pires looks like he is just ahead of Borenstein with two levels to complete the flight.
Borenstein could easily catch him, though, if he continues to “suck out again,” as reported by Iverson “Heisenberg” Snuffer, who is seat to his right.

The Almighty Stack has arrived! The first of four starting flights has just put cards in the air in the Signature Room.
Players start with an ‘Almighty Stack’ of 100,000 chips. The first 17 levels, which will be played on Day 1, are 30 minutes long. This fight will start wrapping up about 8:30pm.
This is a best stack forward event and features unlimited re-entries through the first 12 levels. This means players who bust out can re-enter and in addition, players who bag chips at the end of any flight can play any subsequent flight as well. If they bag chips again, they will take only their best stack into Day 2.
Late registration is also available until the start of level 13, which should fall at about 5:45pm.
The second flight begins at 5pm today. Flights C and D run Wednesday at 10am and 6pm, respectively. Survivors of all four starting flights will come together on Thursday at 12 noon for Day 2.
